jenny ryrie
Jenny graduated with an M.A in Fine Art from Edinburgh College of Art and University in 1980; the following year she received her first commission in illustration "Honeybees In Oman". For the next 5 years Jenny worked in botanical illustration in association with Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh and Cardiff University. Between 1988-94 she was a tutor in watercolour painting for West Cheshire College and privately. In 1991 she became a N.W.W.A (North West Women Artist). Jenny was exhibitions organizer for the Chester Fringe Festival, and main co-ordinator of P.A.C.
Jenny has exhibited widely and regularly: Santa Fe U.S.A., Edinburgh, London, Mold, Bury, Chester, Devon, Liverpool and Manchester.
"I work in an expressionistic, intuitive way, often exploring the energy of the landscape and its underlying spirituality. My paintings vary in their degree of abstraction and explore both the physical and metaphysical. Many are inspired by music and sound."
